Integrating Academics & SEL in Middle and High School Classrooms
In the midst of the pandemic, students are struggling to activate the academic and social-emotional skills needed to complete complex, grade-appropriate work. In order to support these students, educators need practical, manageable strategies for integrating social-emotional learning in their content areas. This webinar series offers actionable ideas for teaching and assessing the five CASEL competencies of Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationships Skills, and Responsible Decision-Making. By integrating SEL and academics, educators can strengthen students’ subject-specific skills, increase equity, get to know their kids better, and reconnect with their love of teaching.

Participants walk away with actionable ideas to increase student motivation by incorporating agency and goal setting. Participants also practice ways to teach and assess the skills necessary for students to reach these goals, including the skills of planning, organization, and stress management.
