The Confident Leader
During this five-part webinar series, leaders join together in a community of practice and support, sharing with each other about their work’s challenges and rewards, and practicing strategies to unlock the potential of themselves and those they support. Participants develop a leadership success plan based on their values and vision, explore how their social identities, experiences, perspectives, and emotions impact their work, find ways to build healthy supportive relationships while deepening their understanding of societal, institutional, and interpersonal power dynamics, and practice communication skills. Finally, participants focus on caring for themselves in addition to caring for others. They explore self-care strategies for improving work-life balance, cultivating a positive mindset, and connecting with the joy and purpose of leadership.
Session 3: Social Awareness
In the third session of the Confident Leader webinar series, participants hone their social-awareness skills. They focus on building safe and supportive relationships and on exploring ways to elevate others’ voices, leverage their strengths, and spur their growth. At the same time, participants investigate the societal, institutional, and interpersonal power dynamics that impact their relationships. Areas of focus include navigating shifting power dynamics after internal promotion, unpacking biases and blind spots, and building a positive, cohesive culture within and across teams.
