The Confident Leader
During this five-part webinar series, leaders join together in a community of practice and support, sharing with each other about their work’s challenges and rewards, and practicing strategies to unlock the potential of themselves and those they support. Participants develop a leadership success plan based on their values and vision, explore how their social identities, experiences, perspectives, and emotions impact their work, find ways to build healthy supportive relationships while deepening their understanding of societal, institutional, and interpersonal power dynamics, and practice communication skills. Finally, participants focus on caring for themselves in addition to caring for others. They explore self-care strategies for improving work-life balance, cultivating a positive mindset, and connecting with the joy and purpose of leadership.
Session 5: Self-Care
In the final session of the Confident Leader webinar series, participants explore ways to care for themselves while caring for others. Through a community of practice and support, participants reflect and share about the social-emotional challenges of leadership including demanding workloads, compassion fatigue, isolation, and accountability that exceeds one’s authority. They then make plans for improving work-life balance, cultivating a positive mindset, and connecting with the joy and purpose of their work.
