Explore a set of roles that support students' ability to lead their own groups to be positive and productive. Unpack and adapt the toolkits that accompany each role to increase students' leadership competencies.

OpenSciED Summer Institute

Are you supporting the adoption or implementation of OpenSciEd, the high quality, standards-aligned, phenomena-based science curriculum? Come to our in-person two-day summer institute in New Bedford on July 7 + 8, 2026 from 8:30-3:30. Participants will have the opportunity to: Internalize the OSE curriculum design and routines from the student and teacher perspective Unpack two units of study to explore the anchor phenomena Discuss the OSE approach assessment for learning. Join in community with other OSE educators.   Cost: $700. Coffee and lunch provided.   Participants will receive a certification of completion. Maureen and James will be presenting their topic of Classroom Reset at the AMLE 53rd Annual Conference for Middle Level Educators in Nashville in November 2026!

Maureen and James will be presenting "Support Teachers to Reset their Classroom Culture" at the Learning Forward 2026 Conference in Dallas, TX! Session topic explores classroom-tested tools for supporting teachers to reset their classroom culture. Assess classroom conditions, prepare strategies to improve target areas, and experiment with a student-facing reset script template that enables educators and students to collaboratively solve problems and improve classroom culture. Walk away ready to support colleagues and kids to create positive, productive classroom cultures in which everyone feels ownership and everyone succeeds. Participants will: Assess current conditions in classrooms you support to determine focus areas and set goals for improving classroom culture; Explore strategies and experiment with scripts you can use with students to collaboratively
